Microchipping Information

Microchip placement provides peace of mind and aids in the process of locating your cat in the event that they become lost. Even for cats that are strictly indoors, there is still a risk that they could run out an open door or window. At College Station Cat Clinic, we use PetLink™ microchips that are inserted just under the skin. Once your cat is found, they can be scanned with a microchip reader. Their unique number will appear and will be associated with your home address as long as you register it with your information. 

We typically encourage microchip placement while the cat is already under anesthesia for a surgical procedure like a spay or neuter to ensure maximum comfort. We can also place the chip during an exam appointment with lots of love and treats for distraction.
